Good news. On the way home, yesterday, I got a text from my mother stating that the pathology test for the tumor extracted from my sister's lung came back negative. I guess that means it's benign. I haven't heard anything else from mom, so I don't know if this puts my sister in the clear or if there's other things to be done before she's completely out of the woods--maybe a monitoring phase?
