Check completed auctions on ebay, it is hard to get your money back out if you restore, just clean up the rust with oxalic acid. Take lots of high resolution pictures, and search for completed auction on the various pieces. I have done VERY well on some bmx components, but have never sold a complete. Sometimes components have date codes too.
