Well, I haven't replaced the tire yet (lazy: want to clean the cogs first), but the consensus is that the seams are good. Rob at Psimet looked at my picture and assured me it was normal. So: I'll clean the cogs, make sure the brakes are set properly and that there's nothing in the pads, and put everything back together and hope for the best. Thanks everyone for your input. Learned something. By the way: Rob (Psimet) has a reputation for building really nice wheels. I was considering some $1000 wheelsets for my new Moots last year, and Rob built me these for a little over $600: Kinlin rims, Sapim spokes, and White Industries hubs. Very nice.
