From what I've read in the Forums, early calory calculations were based on speed only, even with devices with heart rate info. Most current HRMs take heart rate and user's weight into account. I assume the Timex has heart rate functions?

In any case, measuring calories is not an exact science with these devices, you'd need a lot more sophisticated stuff or even laboratory conditions for that.
