Okay...I've got what is probably a fairly stupid newb question...

How do I know if my steerer tube is carbon or aluminum without taking it apart? I've got a 2010 Specialized Roubaix Elite and I've searched the web for about 30+ minutes without coming up with a definitive answer.

My bike's specs say:

Fork - Roubaix full carbon monocoque, w/ Zertz inserts
Headset - Alloy, 1-1/8 - 1-3/8", w/ 20mm of spacers

And from looking at the stem, I've got a few spacers underneath the stem, but none between the top of the stem and the cap...
