Damn!!! That is so close in a race with such big time differences. What kind of wheels did you ride? I would guess something with a profile of 40mm or lower under 1500grams would be a good choice. Man, I am kind of hot on doing this next yr if my season goes well. Plus I know these climbs like the back of my hand.
I'm using my DV46 rear/LEW front (replaced crashed DV46). It's about 1200g for the set. They are my lightest wheels and they are nice and fast for the descents.
