Are you kidding? I just rode from Harlem to Williamsburg (with a couple of beer breaks on the way) with a friend--he did geared, I did fixed. My friend, visiting from out of town, turns to me several times and says, 'This is the best tour I've had of any city...ever!' Can't beat it here; nighttime is bike time.

That was by far the longest ride I've done on fixed so far, and it was all made possible by empty streets and wide lanes with few pedestrians and fewer cars.

Fantastic!

Anyone in NYC know what the traffic rule is about the southbound tunnel from Park Av. around Grand Central Station? Did I break the law there? Damn that was fun--would never walk it, but ride it, sure, in a heartbeat. My friend loved it.
