Bike sizing is the MOST important! An uncomfortable bike is an un-ridden bike.
Beware that the LBS is just trying to clear inventory. But I'd give the 56 a shot...meaning try getting fit on it, but DON'T buy it unless you're absolutely satisfied with the fit.
