wordy intro

Greetings all-
I just turned 60. Can’t really believe that I’ve now got more behind me than forward! Never the less ‘been cycling really all my life. My daily ride I bought new in 1968, Raleigh Super Course up graded with Campy, and I still put nearly a hundred a week on it. I live in Austin now, but spent the last 11 years on an island in the Pacific so small private autos where prohibited and everyone rode a bike. Those days I rode a ’63 Royal Scot (Sturmey Archer) which was dedicated to the sea when I sailed back to the mainland on my sailboat as rust had won. My newest bike is a 2000 DeRosa which my wife had made on a trip to Italy for my 50th birthday. My oldest bike is a Raleigh Tourist war bike -1946 with dyno hub. My interest are somewhat mixed between retro and new but find myself wanting to keep it simple. I’m a Buddhist of about 35 years, love good Tequila and a good cigar (old Chinese proverb- “water too pure have no fish”). ‘Have continued to probe the bike forum for answers so I thought I should join.
