The only weakness of the R1000 is they "upgraded" the alloy Truvativ Rouleur crankset of the R900 to the carbon one.
R900 is super nice for $1600. I think I'd sell the wheels and put something else on though.
I asked this question over at weight weenies and according to the german tour magazine's tests the alloy truvativ crank is both lighter and much stiffer than the carbon version.
I'm probably going to get the sliver alloy Truvativ crank in compact form that comes on that R900. (might throw black rings on it after the silver ones wear out)
