Some questions:
Please tell us your age:54
1. What type of bikes do 50+ folks ride? For the last 5 years I have been riding a 2005 specialized Expedition (Comfort), but I have a brand new Giant Defy 1 sitting in my office taunting me to hurry up and get through my physical therapy so we can go out riding.
2. Do you take any special supplements/vitamins/minerals as you have grown older? GNC Men's Multi-vitamin
3. How much do you feel you have "slowed down" if any? Feeling really slow right now, I am 6 weeks out of a total knee replacement. Aside from that I could whip my younger self any day of the week.
4. How long have you been biking? New, around a while, biked all your life? On and off over the last 5 years.
5. What type of biking do you do? Long rides, touring, short rec rides: My expedition has mostly been an exercise bike, it goes with me to work during the summer and I ride it at lunch times. My new Defy has already told me that it won't put up with that sh** and I had better be ready to put some serious miles or I can take it back to the lbs and it will find a real rider. My goal for this next season it to work up to commuting (70 miles round trip) at least once a week, with a century as my long term goal.
6. How often do you bike? Your approximate annual mileage? 3-4 a week, never kept track
7. Other activities: I am an avid hiker, I love the mountain trails and during the winter I snow shoe.
