At one time I held that only the official team bikes had the 7-Eleven sticker... then Tears for Gears linked me to that catalogue page and I retracted my statements.

More recently I contended that the official team bikes all had the number hanger instead of a pump peg, but now I doubt that as well. If you look at the Winning piece on Dag Otto's bike you'll see what appears to be lack of a number hanger in one photo, and in another photo a number attached in a way that you wouldn't expect if there were a number hanger. http://diabloscott.blogspot.com/2000...t_archive.html

I'm inclined to think Joe's bike is the real deal because 1) the serial number doesn't correspond to the production bikes that Jeremy has numbers for LINK, and 2) the Hampsten decal is just too good.
