Greetings from Cali; what is a good speed?

Hello! I live in Santa Clara, and have recently gotten into Road Biking. During my last adventure I biked from Santa Clara to South San Fransisco, according to my Cateye astrale 8, I averaged in at 16mph over the a distance of 70 miles. After strolling through the forums i realize that there are age groups and different circumstances.
-I am 16, haven't biked for more than a year and currently ride the 700c GMC Denali w/o any upgraded parts. The route I took was down a rather large street and probably had around 80+ intersections through minimal traffic. Is this a reasonable speed regarding my age group and circumstances?
