Downing a shot (or two) of Martell XO Supreme usually had the desired effect of putting her right to sleep, but not this night. Visions of outfitting that 2008 or 2010 (depending on who you asked) Trek Madone Project 1 with a Di2 groupset had kept her up for hours. She had no inclination to tackle RAGBRAI or the Etape du Tour, although she wouldn’t mind another ski trip to the Dolomites (but we digress), so she had no worries about the Di2 serving her purposes.
The only thing for it was a windfall, and where oh where could she expect one of those? Just then the phone rang, rousing Cherchival from his coveted doggie catnap.
She could not believe her ears, former client Pepe La Naranjo was this very minute piloting his Beech Bonanza over her home and would like her to pick him up at DSI. He was actually going to BUY that $2.8m Gulf front albatross she had shown him during the Billy Bowlegs Festival last year!
