I'm not really a retrogrouch but I have a natural tan Gyes Parkside sprung leather saddle on my '09 Marin Argenta. I love the thing even though it adds a good lb + to the bike. I have the same saddle in black on my grocery getter. Velo Orange has its own model, made by Gyes, on sale. I highly recommend it.
