Alpe d'Huez at 12

C'etait une performance formidable, merveilluese and fantastique.

If you want to translate the above into English, (or even French ), young Hazel (12 - just) rode up Alpe d'Hueze, non-stop, in 1 hour and 50 minutes. Her mum acted as soigneur and chief drinks supplier by driving up ahead of her and stopping at intervals.

She and her brother, 10 and 8, did it in about 4 hours a couple of years ago, but with lots of stops.

The certificate was an official one, issued at the top of le col.

Underestimate your kids abilities at your peril

That's 13.8 kilometres), average gradient 7.9%, 21 hairpins, and about 1100m height gain
