I had this surgery on my right knee in 2008 -- two small tears. It got so bad I could hardly walk down to the mailbox.
The sports med doc said after the surgery my hiking days may be numbered or maybe no hiking at all, but I could ride till I was a hundred. He was right about the hiking. But after 3 years I can hike ok. Never was much of a hiker anyway. And riding, no problems at all. In fact, I still have almost 34 years of riding to look forward to.

Good luck with the surgery and PT afterward.
