- and this is last year's model now. Sorry, but what you're saying makes no sense at all. Maybe it did several years ago, but if so things have changed.

Gosh - the manufacturer says that the light is "blindingly bright!" It must be good! Hmm. However, the output is only a pathetic 30 Lumens. Compared to 80L from some single AAA keychain lights... Well, I suppose you could blind somebody with it if you jabbed them in the eye...
There are 500-lumen Xenon flashlights, but they require protected 18650 Lithium batteries and the runtime is 70 minutes or less. The thing people do not understand about Xenon bulbs, though, is the human eye is more attuned to the 6000K color temperature of the light, so Xenon lights do not need to be very powerful to allow the user to see. 80-lumens Xenon flashlights can easily penetrate fog, steam, dust, and that stuff and because the human eye naturally sees blue light as brighter than normal, 80 lumens from a Xenon bulb can appear much brighter than it really is.

My Canadian friend says his hometown of Amhurst, Nova Scotia has LED street lights. He says they aren't anywhere near as bright as the Metal Halide ones and that the glare is ungodly. If you drop a quarter under an LED street light, you won't be able to find it. He says all LED lights have problems with excessive glare.
