I also participate on a tool/workshop forum. Its a great way to get ideas (ie., find ways to spend more money). Anyway, one of the better things I picked up at a good price is this Harbor Freight Tool Cart. HF is noted for cheap imported tools. But some of their tool storage is actually pretty good. They run a coupon on this four drawer cart for $99. You can download the coupon off the web, HF has no problems with downloaded coupons (they are pretty flexible).
The tool cart has four drawers, a top storage area with lid, and a bottom shelf.
The cart is big enough to hold just all of my tools, certainly all the tools that I use on a routine basis (truing stand and vise are mounted on a separate work bench). And you can roll it next to your bike stand or wherever it is convenient.
I have had tool cabinets with top boxes for years. The cart is MUCH handier, and cost a small fraction.
YMMV, but this cart is pretty nice. If you want something bigger, HF has a coupon out there for the cart one size larger, five drawers, for $169. I really can't see buying anything bigger.
The pic below is with the drawers open (they close of course). Ball bearing slides.
The shop are picture "looks" spacious, only because I am currently occupying the living room of a duplex I am rehabbing (I am fixing up the other unit, believe me, this side is really rough). Prior to this, my workshop area was a world class disaster zone. I've got a lot of racks and other stuff to build, so this area will fill up pretty fast.
