What's so horrific about this portion of road? I'll be riding this route in June and I'm not familiar with the area.
I always thought it was the stretch between Crescent City and Klamath that everyone hated. I remember non-stop 60 mph traffic, trying to go as straight as possible up these winding hills, and no shoulder.
