Ahhhh!

As the local hardware store was a bust, I would suggest Mcmaster-Carr, Grainger, or Metric and Multi-Standard(a good source for Whitworth wrenches and hardware). As a cheap fix, I'd look at various size drill bits(/32 and /64 sizes should get you into the ballpark) and sacrifice one for Queen and Country.
