I used to be a hardcore video gamer. I'm single so no issues with the loved ones, but I found myself spending very little time on other interests. I'd spend hours immersed in some game or another. Finally decided to sell off my super-duper video card and devote time to other things like reading, writing, and riding. I don't miss it one bit.
It's kind of like empty calories you get from fast food or beer. Tastes nice, but once you ween yourself off of it, you find there's plenty of better substance to be found elsewhere.
