Transition Xtra Active gets a LOT darker. I hear ya about the old Transitions. I sell them and I didn't like them(when they first came out). Was hard to sell something you didn't like. Xtra Active is a whole new puppy.................AND...they now have polarized Transitions but they have a funky color to them and stay a bit dark(not bad). Regular polarized are the best SUN lens made. But at dusk you now have a problem. Yeah you can take them off but you no longer have eye protection.
I wear my regular Oakley Rx frames with progressive(bifocal) Transition Xtra Active lenses(Oh and I don't have to pay for them )
