You can take the Pearblossom Highway across towards Lancaster/Palmdale, then take Sierra Highway all the way to the outskirts. Can't remember if it runs into Balboa, or if you have to link to Balboa via The Old Road. Balboa will take you across the valley. Somewhere before the 101 you will need to go East about a mile to Sepulveda, then take it South over the pass and into Culver City.
If you like to climb, when you reach the end of Pearblossom Highway, you could take the Angeles Forest Highway up and over into Tujunga, then work your way over to Sepulveda and then into CC.
If you are near Phelan still, you can take the Angeles Crest Highway over into Burbank and cut across to CC from there.
