Yeah, they're short handlebars--just under 20 inches. I decided to use the bike in question for a sidewalk bike, though, and make another mountain bike entirely.

As far as brakes, the front wheel didn't have a disc hub and I didn't want to have to buy a new hub and rebuild the wheel.
