Sounds like you had a great time, although I'm surprised at only seeing a 20% gradient. I remember a hill near Porlock in north Somerset that was 25% for quite a significant distance, and I've come across a few in Devon and Cornwall that are posted as 33% gradients, although most of them are fairly short.
