Find that the basic, and now improved Marathon, is about as much tyre as anyone needs unless they have to deal with goat heads... the M Plus offers more flat protection but it is a really heavy and sluggish tyre.

Use Schwalbe tyres on 5 of my bicycles with 3 of those being Marathons, 1 set of Hurricanes, and one set of Silento II tyres and have only had one flat over the past five years and this was on my 26 inch Marathons and this involved a thick chunk of glass as big as my thumb.

Even then, it only caused a slow leak and only put a small hole in my tyre.

The highest mileage Schwalbes I am running are my Hurricanes that have gone over 12,000 km without a flat and still look nearly as good as new.

You can expect to get 6000-12,000 km out of a set of Marathons depending on use... people who use them for touring will wear out their rear tyre much faster due to the higher loads it experiences.
