I love my 2011 Mendota! Basically you trade the carbon fork of the Mendota for the hydraulic brakes of the 7.5. I don't know enough about the running gears to give any advice. Fork, hydraulics, or whichever one talks to you loudest. Your choice!
(Oops... I was thinking the 7.5 disc. The regular 7.5 does have the carbon fork, so that makes it a harder choice.)
