Fortunately I got myself a new scale that reads the same thing every time I step on it, lol. Just weighed myself again after a ride but before dinner (when I usually weigh), confirmed the 15 pound weight difference from the other and double checked on a third scale...down 38 pounds now. I do feel much more like 189 and a slightly high BMI than 174 and healthy as the old scale would have me think.
It does make me wonder though, if 4 years ago when I weighed 168 (the lightest I've been in my adult life) was I actually 168 or was I 183? I honestly don't remember what my tummy looked like back then. I'm betting I wasn't actually 168 though, so probably I'm closer to that weight than 21 pounds.
Hate that I'm not as close as I thought, but I'm glad that I can have confidence in what my scale is telling me from now on.
