Well I started at 250 on my crosstrail and I am down to 217, and feel alot better. Plus I don't huff and puff going up stairs anymore. The only thing I can pass on is what I have "heard" on this forum and others. I have not run into these problems myself, watch out for spokes breaking on the rear wheel also the standard 700x45 tires that come with the bike tend to have flats. That's what "they" say whoever they is. I wanted to put road tires on my crosstrail so I replaced them first with a set of Panaracer Rimbo's in 700x35, then went with Michelin Pilot Sport also 700x35 I really liked them and now I have just put a set of Conti TravelContact's "http://www.conti-online.com/generator/www/de/en/continental/bicycle/themes/city/tour/travelcontact/travelcontact_en.html" in a 700x37. All I can say is no flats on any of the tires I have used.
