+1 You don't want to be behind someone when they're blowing a snotrocket or spitting. I agree with OP that it's hard to meet riders, but should an opportunity present itself, you don't want to think back and ask "why didn't I introduce myself?" Live life to your fullest and don't take people not waving back personally. For example, when I'm doing a hard pull at 30mph with headwind for over 2 minutes, the last thing I want to do is break my pace/concentration Just my 2 cents.
