I was pedaling hard today and the chain popped off my boardwalk s1, locking the back wheel. I managed to crash the bike without falling but this is the third time its happened.
A basic inspection before you ride is in order. Check that the steering isn't loose, that the QR skewers or axle bolts are tight, that your tires are inflated within the recommended pressure range, that brakes are functioning and that the chain is tensioned properly (on a bike without a derailleur or chain tensioning device).
It sounds like you didn't inspect the chain tension.
