Tools wise--do you feel that I could pay a LBS to be able to use their tools? Part of this is the pride in doing it myself. I don't have a BB tool or a headset press.
Probably have to pay them to press them. I know my local shops wouldn't be comfortable letting you use their tools for those jobs. If you have a good relationship with them that does change things of course. Keep in mind, probably going to need to use their cutting guide to cut the steerer as well.
