New Fork Time

So, I bought a Trek 3700 this summer to get into the sport. Needless to say, I am addicted. Me and some friends started a club here at Penn State, and I've been riding like 2-3 times a week. Well, I think I am ready to start upgrading components and since I took a pretty bad spill that seems to have added some slop in my fork, I figure that's going to be the first thing to get swapped out. I have a few questions.

1. I have a 100mm fork on there now. Would a 120mm throw off the geometry?
2. What fork would you suggest? I am having a real tough time looking at anything else but Fox. I know they make great products (I've dealt with their shocks for Jeeps), and that white is just so damn sexy!
3. Is there anything else I should know?

Thanks a ton
Ty
