Sadly, there is no universal way to measure saddles. Specialized is the only company I know that actually has a measuring device and it seems like it's only calibrated to their saddles...

Agree. I'm one of those people for whom the Brooks B17 just doesn't work. It felt to me like you'd need a pretty upright riding position for the B17 to be comfortable.
