The rear admiral was opposed to red, but that's OK: we ended up with a bike that turns heads everywhere. daVinci does a fine custom paint job for not-too-stiff money. Ours is House of Kolor F73 (Translucent Violet Red flakes) over BC25, with straight sections of carbon masked during primary paint so they show as natural. Silver striping at the blue/carbon transitions, and so many coats of clear that the painter stopped counting after six.
