If I were you, I'd be looking to move to a new bottom bracket and crankset. I'm guessing that the design problem with the Powerspline BB's is similar to that of ISIS where the bearings were forced to be too small due to the size of the axle. I still use an ISIS crankset on my commuter but I've learned that I need to use the more expensive BBs after quickly wearing out a cheap Truvativ BB. Unfortunately, just like with ISIS you won't find any new designs coming out for these systems and who knows how long parts will even be available. When things start getting scarce, I know I'll be buying up quite a few ISIS BB's so that I can keep my Stronglight Pulsion crank going.
There's no reason why you can't salvage the chainrings from the old crank and use them as replacements on the new crank. The arms can be used as wall hangings
