Extremem Makeover, Bicycle Edition

Last Sunday our church held its annual Light YOUR World day, in which we did community service projects instead of attending morning worship. I led a group of 20+ folks who cleaned and repaired donated bicycles for needy children, adults, and families in our community. We started w/ close to 80 bikes, completed about 65 of them, scrapped a few hopeless cases (rust is a big problem in a beach town), and returned the last dozen for future work, parts donation, etc. "It's not about the bike[s]" -- we got to know each other better, had a great time working together, and did something for the Community Resource Center, a well-run local agency which helps the needy in our area.
