Very very interesting...
You could theoretically sandbag in cat 5 (I know it happens), but since there are no cash prizes in 5 it is pointless. Now in cat 3 there is a lot of sandbagging because people do not want to move to cat 1 -2 pro races (which I understand are significantly faster)...
They have a cat 5 so that people can get into the sport and try out a race. Here it seems since bike riding is not so much the norm they want to get as many racers and riders on the scene. Five is a crash and drop fest here, and they want to get the 4's with the 5's... we all know that...
