I don't think $200 is such an outrageous price for the frame if it's what you want. I spent about $150 on my Kilo frame/fork but still got the bike built with pretty nice parts for under $350.

The only way you can get a decent frame for less than $200 is if you buy used, and some people don't like to buy used.
