If you really want to hit bottom (and who doesn't), cruise around and
check out the Davis bike shops that remain. I was particularly amused
(and taken with) something called the Davis Bike Exchange in the strip
mall next to Aggie Liquors at 5th and L. As I wandered around in there
looking at row upon row of rusty Schwinns, i kept hearing "Dueling Banjos"
bouncing around in my head.

Wheelworks is, as closely as I can tell, 100% carbon fiber, low spoke,
speed racer bikes; and there was another place on 2nd, i think, that
sells some reasonably serviceable newer stuff. The used market, other
than the aforementioned "Deliverance" bike shop and the bike collective,
has migrated to Craigslist.......which I presume is the case everywhere
now.

But yeah, still many, many autos......mine included. Hey, at least
mine's electric.
