The Flying Dutchman bike shop & brand was rather popular in the Glendale and surrounding areas in the late 1960s and the 1970s. Mr. Van Der Kolk and his sons (plus later his grandson) ran this unique bike shop. While I did not own a folding model, I own 2 of these bikes. It was a touring model with derailleur multiple speeds, dropped handlebars, and an Alpine (extreme low) gear. The first one was stolen in 1973. I bought another one just like it and it last many, many years until my garage roof fell on it. It is not much monetary in value, but they are very good bikes. Unlike most cheap junk which passes for a bike nowadays.
