I have those same thin Simplex dropouts on my Jeunet. There is no derailer hanger and there never was one. I can't tell of they're forged or simply stamped. The three dimensionality is very slight.
Sixty Fiver:
Forged, not cast. There's a big difference. Castings tend to be weak. Forgings do not.
