Thanks! I took the bar end shifter off and it seems kinda messed up... here's some pics of it...

the grey plastic ring is cracked... does that matter??

What model do I want if I need the 7-speed?? also, If I want to run friction mode can I use ANY Shimano / Dura Ace bar end shifter? even a new 10 speed on on friction mode with my 7-speed shimano 600 derailer??
