Urban ride by local bicycling advocacy group, ConsiderBiking. Regular people who bike in the city. They were more like the people I rode with in the 70s than the current crop of lycra-clad racer wannabees. Several people seemed impressed by my Bob Jackson. Funny, in the late 80s though the early 2000s, people would tell me I needed to upgrade when I rode a C&V bike on a club ride.
Our destination was Franklinton Cycle Works, a charitable organization that refurbishes bicycles and sells them cheap or in return for volunteer work to people in need. I have my eye on a Trek 520 frame they have. Plan to donate a box of parts, and I hope to find the time to volunteer as a mechanic.
Preparing for the ride home after being fed pulled pork sandwiches and mac and cheese.
On the way home, one of the ride leaders documents new installations of bike racks--here I am by the rack. Nice rack!
