Actually the ISIS BB system is lighter with a Ti BB (especially with that AC BB).

The main difference with external bearings over ISIS is durability. Bearings can be much bigger when they put them outside.

Not sure there is much difference in stiffness. ISIS axle is pretty thick and that's the problem actually (not enough room for bearings because of this)
