Cool! Yes I definitely noticed the friendly honks and cheers, and like I said earlier I don't see the tension between cyclists and motorists that I see here.

This city is a bit more uptight than the Bay Area though. I often feel I would be more at home down there (especially with the hills! ), due to the more accepting attitudes.

A severely disabled friend of mine who uses a wheelchair was born and raised in the Bay Area. He now lives up here about a mile away from me. He told me recently that people here aren't friendly like they are down there.
