In the summer we go up higher, usually drive to 5 or 6000 feet and ride from there. You can spend the day between 5 and 8000 and it's much cooler.
I don't remember the model of the Giro, it's more than 4 years old. Pneumo-something, I think.

There is a lot of around 10% on the route I took, but I don't think any long stretches much steeper than that. There are a few short, steep things that are probably 15%, but I'm not really sure. The hard thing is the relentless nature of the first long climb.
