I agree with Slim; that bike has pretty low end components. I think you can find better bikes on BD for $500.
http://www.bikesdirect.com/products/.../liberty_2.htm has Tiagra/Sory components. Is your budget $500? A complete bike will be much cheaper than buying parts.
