Value of a set of newly built 27" x 1 1/8 wheels with Deore Freehub and new Araya rim
I'm just curious how much of a value wheels like these would have. I'm not selling them, I am in the process of building a set. I have the rear wheel nearly done. I used a brand new Araya 27" rim 36 hole, a Shimano Deore 7 speed size freehub, and stainless steel spokes. I will be putting a really nice 7speed Shimano cassette on it once its done.
The front wheel is configured nearly the same instead of the hub being a Deore, its another series of hub, I just can't remember what family. Same setup though, brand new 36 hole Araya rim, ss spokes.
How much would a set of wheels like these be worth these days? I know everyone is converting to 700c rims (I thought about it) but I wonder just what freehub wheels that take the old school tires are valued at? I wonder if all the time and effort I'm putting into these wheels is rather pointless as well.
They are going to be going on my old '80s schwinn once they are finished.
